Kerry Ellis takes our Sugar Rush Quiz

West End superstar Kerry Ellis is currently starring in the rock opera Murder Ballad at the Arts Theatre. Known as the First Lady of the West End, the performer’s London stage career has seen her play a whole host of leading roles including Elphaba in Wicked, Fantine in Les Misérables and Grizabella in Cats at the London Palladium.

The acclaimed singer has toured and recorded extensively with Queen guitarist Brain May, while also gaining a reputation as an engaging solo performer and is nominated for a coveted Wilma award for best cabaret/solo performance at next month’s glitzy ceremony at the Hippodrome Casino.

Kerry took some time out of her busy schedule to take our Sugar Rush quiz.

What did you want to be when you were a child?
An artist

What was the naughtiest thing you did when you were a child?
I skipped a French class with my friend and sat on the stairs while the school called the police and thought we were missing! Oops

What is your proudest achievement to date?
Giving birth twice!

What’s next?
I’m going back on tour with Brain (May) for some Candlelit Christmas concerts, I’ve got a new album planned and I’m also playing Alice in a musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass called Wonderland, which will tour the UK in 2017.
