Musical I dislike: Evita – despise not just dislike)
Overrated musical: Les Mis – I love it, but it’s a show people often see just because they haven’t heard of anything else
Underrated musical: Carrie – the production at Southwark Playhouse starring Evelyn Hoskins was wonderful
Musical I love: Wicked – I’m seeing the show for 24th time this week and could happily watch it again and again
Musical I cherish: Side Show – It was fantastic when the show came to Southwark Playhouse and Louise Dearman and Laura Pitt- Pulford were stunning as the twins
Musical that keeps me laughing: Mame (I had so much fun doing the show and would love to see it return to London)
Musicals I sob to: The Girls- I would previously have said Carousel, but the production at the London Coliseum has sadly changed my mind, so instead it’s The Girls. Joanna Riding singing Tim Firth and Gary Barlow’s songs is heart breaking
Guilty pleasure musical: Mama Mia!- I’d love to see the show again before Linzi Hateley and Mazz Murray leave.
Musical whose songs I skip: Waitress- Some stunning songs but “Club Knocked Up”, “Love you Like a Table” and “Take it from an Old Man” are
Musical I could listen to on repeat: Dear Evan Hanson- musically absolutely gorgeous, with powerful lyrics and an important message
Musical I am most excited to see: Hamilton- the soundtrack has been a grower for me, as it’s not the style I would usually choose, but I’m now a fan and I can’t wait to how the show is staged at the Victoria Palace.
