Having previously performed with Coldplay and Michael Bublé, a cappella pioneers, Naturally 7 return to the UK to perform at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
They bring with them their unique style they call “vocal play” which according to group leader Roger Thomas is “the art of becoming an instrument using the human voice to create the sound”.
They simulate the sounds of an instrumental band using only their voices, mouths and distortion effects.
The performance at the west London venue coincides with the release of their seventh studio album, Both Sides Now. It represents the ongoing development of the so called “band without a band”. The songs are driven by warm, rich harmonies and the unique ability to perform a variety of instruments using only their voices that Naturally 7 have become synonymous with.
The album contains classics spanning over a century: from Roberta Flack’s ‘The First Time, Ever I Saw Your Face’ to the classic British Hymn ‘Jerusalem’. A selection of special guests feature on the tracks, such as YouTube star Peter Hollens on their version of Sting’s ‘Shape Of My Heart’.
